Surviving the unpredictable conditions of the seas gave rise to strange beliefs and superstitions…  when faced with the formidable forces of the ocean, one may well seek comfort in strange signs symbolizing good or bad luck, pagan and nefarious.

 

​ Sea fishing remains the second most precarious of jobs after logging!
